About Ed's Transmission & Auto Services

Located at 1228 E 26th St, Erie, PA 16504, Ed's Transmission & Auto Services operates as a transmission shop serving Erie in Pennsylvania. Brake, transmission, exhaust and glass work is often done by specialty shops that see the same job dozens of times a week. Brake shops replace pads and rotors the same day and usually inspect for free; transmission shops rebuild or replace automatics and clutches, a multi-day job that deserves a second quote; muffler and exhaust shops weld custom pipes and replace catalytic converters, which in many states must meet emissions rules. Alignment and suspension shops fix pulling, uneven tire wear and worn shocks, and radiator shops handle overheating and cooling-system leaks. Auto glass shops replace windshields, often at your home or office, and recalibrate the driver-assistance cameras mounted behind the glass. Window tinting and car audio shops round out the group.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Ed's Transmission & Auto Services at (814) 456-2357; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 90 reviews, which is a strong result for a transmission shop in Erie and suggests consistent service.

Erie is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Erie is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Fast, good, cheap, you can only have two of the three. I had same day transmission service completed, he even stayed late to accommodate. This is a great place to get your work done. These guys don't mess around. Very upfront and honest. After about 10,000 MI my vehicle is still going strong. I do hope I never have to see them again but unfortunately if it has tits or tires it's going to give you problems, so I will definitely recommend them to anybody.

They fixed it but they couldn't figure out why it was shifting hard between second and third gear and they just gave it back to me. Said they couldn't fix it any better would not recommend no had my car for 6weeks and it still didn't shift right, this is 2years later less than 5000 miles and it blew out again .needs another transmission these guys are a joke

Fantastic service. I was quoted 7500 and 3weeks time by the dealer. These fantastic dudes got it done for less then half of that in 3 days. They also fixed some other issues they noticed free of charge. 10/10 would have my transmission blow up again.
